UDLA y Municipalidad de Maipú destacan convenio de trabajo en conjunto.
Ambas instituciones inauguraron la pista de patinaje de la comuna, cuya construcción forma parte del convenio de cooperación entre ambas instituciones, el cual estipula el desarrollo de programas académicos, proyectos, y actividades culturales y deportivas en conjunto.
La Rectora de Universidad de Las Américas, Pilar Romaguera y la alcaldesa de Maipú, Cathy Barriga, inauguraron este martes la pista de patinaje “Los Toros”, construida en la exmedialuna de Maipú, y que permitirá a los habitantes de la comuna contar con un espacio deportivo y recreacional gratuito. La iniciativa forma parte del convenio de colaboración entre Universidad de Las Américas y la Municipalidad de Maipú, que promueve la realización de acciones de índole deportiva, cultural y social, y fomenta la cooperación entre ambas entidades con el fin de desarrollar programas, proyectos y actividades.
La alcaldesa de Maipú, Cathy Barriga, valoró la iniciativa: “Agradecemos a Universidad de Las Américas, que desde un comienzo hemos tenido su apoyo, con las múltiples carreras que ellos imparten. Tener un vecino con responsabilidad social como Universidad de Las Américas es un privilegio”.
La Rectora de Universidad de Las Américas, Pilar Romaguera, indicó que gracias a este convenio “nuestros estudiantes tendrán la posibilidad de participar en programas municipales que fortalezcan sus procesos de prácticas, como por ejemplo nuestros alumnos de Derecho, que están participando en clínicas jurídicas en la comuna, así como estudiantes del área de Educación Física, que podrán hacer uso de las instalaciones del Estadio Santiago Bueras. Nuestros estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud, también se verán beneficiados, ya que podrán colaborar en centros de salud dependientes de la Municipalidad como campo para la formación asistencial y técnica, y para el desarrollo de actividades de enseñanza, realizando una contribución positiva para el bienestar de la población de la comuna”.
La Rectora agregó que la Institución espera aportar desde la educación a construir una sociedad mejor: “para ello, consideramos esencial el trabajo conjunto entre universidades y municipios. Esperamos continuar progresando, a través de estos convenios, para beneficio de nuestros estudiantes y de la comuna de Maipú”.
Universidad de Las Américas tiene, hace más de 15 años, un Campus en la Región Metropolitana en la comuna, en el que se imparten distintas carreras, que contribuyen activamente con la cultura, el deporte y el desarrollo en general de la comunidad.
