El futuro de la logística

Hace un tiempo que ya se viene hablando de la transformación digital de las empresas. Suena simple incorporar tecnología, y que por arte de magia los procesos se hagan más rápidos, simples y eficientes, pero los cambios que conllevan las transformaciones generalmente duelen y por eso, generan resistencia y las personas tienden a mantener el status quo.

 

Para gran parte de las empresas, la pandemia fue la que, finalmente, aceleró a fondo la transformación digital. El Covid 19 nos hizo entrar en modo “supervivencia” a todos y las entidades no quedaron ajenas, la única manera de seguir operando fue incorporar tecnología y ésta no encontró resistencias, ya que las personas también entendieron que este era el único modo de operación posible para la empresa y con eso para sus trabajos.

 

Las dos áreas donde más cambios obligados hubo fue en la relación de las empresas con sus trabajadores, y de las compañías con sus clientes. Por el lado, de los clientes, no hubo otra que fortalecer los medios de entrega de productos y servicios medanet el despacho de a domicilio, y así el rubro logístico fue el segundo sector más beneficiado después de la tecnología.

 

Pero ambos sectores vienen desde antes haciendo ruido. La tecnología ha sido el foco de atención en los últimos años, no por nada las empresas más grandes son tecnológicas ya sea creando nuevos negocios como Google o Facebook, e innovando negocios históricos como Amazon, Apple o Tesla. 

 

En logística, Amazon, Uber, Cornershop o Rappi hace tiempo que están cambiando las reglas del juego de cómo se entregan los productos, y la gracia que tienen es que se apoyan fuertemente en la tecnología.

 

En la actualidad, la logística está especialmente revuelta producto de esto dando a cabida a una “logística digital”: nuevos actores aparecen todos los años con nuevos modelos de negocio o mezclando negocios que antes estaban separados, mientras las entidades se encuentran externalizando o internalizando procesos producto de su transformación digital dando cabida a nuevas oportunidades para estos nuevos actores. En fin, es una realidad que está en desarrollo y buscando un nuevo equilibrio, donde espero que se resuelvan las principales incógnitas que se han planteado el último tiempo, tales como el impuesto al que están afectas estas empresas o qué tipo de seguridad social deben cumplir con sus trabajadores.

 

Ambos temas han sido tema de discusión en el último tiempo, hace poco que existe un impuesto digital, donde se gravan estos servicios y que solucionan en parte el primer desafío pero nada se ha resuelto sobre la seguridad social que aplica sobre los trabajadores. Algunos se hacen cargo, pero otros no lo que genera grandes ventajas en la competitividad de cada servicio, pero también es cierto que estos nuevos empleos han servido de manera muy importante para cubrir el desempleo y/o la inmigración proveniente de otros países. Sin embargo, el futuro va a seguir siendo muy desafiante en este tema, ya que queda poco para que funcionen los vehículos autónomos, por lo que se prescindirá de esos puestos de trabajo.

 

Esto se suma al contexto social de Chile y otros países, donde la gente ve con preocupación estos cambios y de qué manera les afectarán en el futuro. ¿Cuál es la solución? No lo sé con certeza, pero si me atrevo a decir que hoy más que nunca hay que estar atentos a las nuevas oportunidades que generan estos cambios, ser flexibles para cambiar los modelos de negocios que siempre han funcionado y contar con un socio tecnológico que los acompañe en sus desafíos.
