Nuevas soluciones de productos más sostenibles presenta Adidas
La marca alemana pasará a usar poliéster reciclado en todos los productos para 2024; reducirá su huella de carbono en un 30% para 2030; y logrará la neutralidad climática para 2050.
Adidas adopta una Estrategia de Tres Ciclos para innovar en productos y procesos sostenibles: Ciclo Reciclado, Ciclo Circular y Ciclo Biónico
Santiago, junio 2020. Desde 2012, adidas ha creado nuevos productos y procesos innovadores con socios enfocados en la sostenibilidad, como Parley for the Oceans, Stella McCartney y la Estación Espacial Internacional de EE. UU.
En 2015, se creó la asociación de innovación ecológica a largo plazo con Parley for the Oceans, que conducía a la producción de más de 15 millones de pares de zapatos fabricados con Parley Ocean Plastic®.
Este año se marca el lanzamiento del nuevo tejido de alto rendimiento PRIMEBLUE una nueva tecnología sostenible diseñada con poliéster 100% reciclado.
PRIMEBLUE, es un tejido de alto rendimiento que contiene Parley Ocean Plastic®, que actualmente se utiliza en algunos de los productos deportivos más icónicos y visibles de la marca como los Ultraboost 20 y en los uniformes de algunos de los equipos y las ligas más grandes del mundo.
Este tejido jugará un papel importante para que adidas logre su objetivo de producir más del 50% del volumen total de sus productos con poliéster reciclado para fines de 2020 y su compromiso de eliminar los desechos plásticos.
El compromiso de adidas cobra vida a través de una Estrategia de Tres Ciclos, que enfoca los esfuerzos de la marca en la creación de tres categorías de productos sostenibles:
• Ciclo Reciclado – Diseñado con materiales reciclados: respaldado por la presentación de los tejidos de alto rendimiento como PRIMEBLUE.
• Ciclo Circular – Diseñado para ser regenerado: productos con ciclos de vida que continúan después de cada uso, como los zapatos de running Futurecraft Loop.
• Ciclo Biónico – Diseñado con la naturaleza: la ambición de adidas de crear un futuro donde cada uno de sus productos pueda tener múltiples vidas y eventualmente volver a la naturaleza.
Todos estos productos más sostenibles cumplirán o superarán los más altos estándares de rendimiento. En la próxima década, la marca se compromete a esforzarse aún más para así lograr que en el 2024, solo usar poliéster reciclado en todas sus categorías de productos, y que, en el 2030 se reduzca la huella de carbono de la empresa en un 30% en comparación con 2017, como parte de la Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action (Carta de la industria de la moda para la acción climática.
“Los productos y procesos de adidas formarán parte de un nuevo modelo de negocio circular cuyo objetivo es extender la vida útil de un producto a través del alquiler, la reparación o la reventa, ser rediseñado en nuevos productos y finalmente regresar a la naturaleza. Se usarán materiales que pueden reciclarse varias veces, desarrollados a partir de recursos naturales o hechos de células y proteínas en un laboratorio”, comenta Nicolás Canessa, Brand Manager Comms Training/Running.
