Esto, ya que durante la jornada de este martes 16 de febrero, en el mercado spot de Londres la libra se cotizó en US$ 3,81, un peak que no se veía desde mayo de 2012, además, los futuros a tres meses del metal rojo ya se transan en US$ 3,83.
De acuerdo a Cochilco, la tonelada de cobre tiene un precio de US$8.416, pero Citi estima que llegará US$10.000, advirtiendo sobre un fuerte déficit mundial, consigna Bloomberg.
Por su parte, JPMorgan, ya está hablando de que las materias primas parecen haber comenzado un nuevo superciclo. Es que no solamente sube el cobre, también lo hacen los precios agrícolas y el petróleo, que ya está en máximos de 13 meses, superando la crisis del coronavirus.
Los precios también pueden subir como una “consecuencia no intencionada” de la lucha contra el cambio climático, que amenaza con restringir los suministros de petróleo al tiempo que impulsa la demanda de metales necesarios para construir infraestructura de energía renovable, baterías y vehículos eléctricos, dijo el banco.
De acuerdo a Bloomberg, desde Goldman Sachs Group hasta Bank of America Corp. y Ospraie Management LLC, están pidiendo un mercado alcista de las materias primas a medida que se inicia el estímulo del gobierno de EE.UU. y se implementan vacunas en todo el mundo para combatir el coronavirus.
